SAIL at School
The true impact of the SAIL project happens inside the classroom. In this section, you can follow our journey across Europe as teachers and students put our AI resources to the test. Discover how different schools are adopting the SAIL Manual to create a secure, ethical, and engaging learning environment, transforming everyday challenges into new opportunities for growth.
Are you interested in joining the pilot? We would be more than happy to meet you and explain the whole process. Send us a message!

Istituto Magistrale Statale Giordano Bruno is committed to nurturing digital fluency, cross-border collaboration, and integrated teaching across disciplines. Through engagement in European programmes, the school bridges technological innovation, creative expression, analytical reasoning, and civic responsibility to enrich students’ intellectual and personal journey.
The school is progressively incorporating AI-driven approaches into its educational practice by promoting the adoption of digital resources, collaborative project work, and thoughtful engagement with emerging tools. Special emphasis is placed on building the capacity of both students and educators to critically assess the potential and limitations of AI, harness it with ethical rigour, and channel it as a means to foster inventiveness, independent thinking, and a lifelong pursuit of knowledge.

Institut de Vic: the school is actively engaged in European cooperation projects and innovation in vocational education, with a strong focus on digital transformation and competency-based learning.
In terms of AI literacy, IVic aims to integrate artificial intelligence into teaching and learning through staff training, student projects, and updated digital citizenship practices. The goal is to ensure both teachers and students develop critical thinking, ethical awareness, and practical skills to use AI responsibly in professional and educational contexts.

Šolski center Slovenske Konjice-Zreče provides general, vocational, technical, and adult education with a strong focus on digital competencies, international cooperation, and practical learning. Through participation in European projects, the school connects modern technologies, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and interdisciplinary teaching to support students’ personal and professional development.
The school is gradually embedding AI-supported practices into the learning process by encouraging the use of digital tools, project-based collaboration, and critical evaluation of information. Particular attention is given to developing students’ and teachers’ abilities to understand the opportunities and risks of AI, apply it ethically and responsibly, and use it to support creativity, problem-solving, and lifelong learning.

At Köyceğiz Science High School, we see Artificial Intelligence not only as a technological innovation but also as a transformative force that is reshaping the future of education, work, and society. Our main activities include teacher training, student workshops, virtual exchanges, collaborative projects with European partners, and the development of practical AI applications for learning and teaching.
Our goal is to create an AI-aware school culture where both teachers and students understand not only how AI tools work but also how to use them critically, ethically, and responsibly. We want our students to become informed digital citizens who can distinguish reliable information from AI-generated misinformation, think independently, and make responsible decisions in an increasingly digital world. Through international cooperation and the exchange of best practices, we aim to empower our school community to embrace innovation while upholding democratic values, human rights, and academic integrity. Ultimately, we hope to prepare our students not just to adapt to the future shaped by AI, but to actively contribute to shaping that future themselves.

Stories from the classrooms
-
When they told us about SAIL, my first thought was that it would be mostly about rules — what you can and cannot do with AI. But from what I understand, it is more about learning to think critically about it, which honestly sounds more interesting and more useful.
- Enea, 17 years old, IMS Giordano Bruno -
I have heard we will be working on artificial intelligence as part of a European project and I am genuinely curious. I use AI tools almost every day, but I have never really stopped to think about how they work or whether I am using them well. I hope this project helps me figure that out.
- Alice, 16 years old, IMS Giordano Bruno -
What surprised me most was discovering that AI can be wrong with great confidence. We were shown examples in class and I found it unsettling at first, then empowering — because it means thinking for yourself is still the most important skill.
- Matilda, 15 years old, IMS Giordano Bruno -
Teaching Languages means constantly navigating the boundary between communication and meaning. AI challenges that boundary in ways we cannot ignore. I see the SAIL project as an opportunity to help students understand that behind every generated text there are choices, biases, and responsibilities — and that their own voice still matters.
- Camilla, Teacher of Modern Languages, IMS Giordano Bruno -
I expect the SAIL project to offer our school a structured framework for approaching artificial intelligence not as a threat to authentic learning, but as a resource to be understood, questioned, and used with awareness. At Giordano Bruno, we already encourage students to engage critically with information — SAIL gives us the pedagogical tools to extend that same rigour to AI.
- Elisabetta, Teacher of Maths and Physics, IMS Giordano Bruno -
We don't just use new tools and artificial intelligence in the classroom; artificial intelligence knows no bounds, and a global perspective is undoubtedly important, just as education itself is becoming increasingly global. I am grateful to teachers for drawing our attention to both the advantages and the pitfalls of this new era that is emerging alongside artificial intelligence.
- Eva, 17 years old -
Artificial intelligence is becoming a part of everyday life. With it, people are able to find information faster and in one place. However, when the information is provided, people cannot be sure whether it is accurate or not. Some people also worry that AI could replace certain jobs in the future. For these reasons, AI should be used carefully and responsibly.”
- Špela, 16 years old -
In my English lessons, I use artificial intelligence to create interactive activities, explain learning content, and expand students' vocabulary. As a result, students are more motivated and actively participate in class. At the same time, I always remind them to use AI in moderation and to verify the information it provides. From this project, I expect to gain new knowledge about the effective use of artificial intelligence in education, especially examples of good practice. I will incorporate the experience gained into my teaching to further improve the learning process.
- Mag. Marjetica Štante Kapun, High School Teacher -
The debate over the role of artificial intelligence in education has also gained momentum at our school, as it is a dynamic and multifaceted process that involves weighing its potential for learning, the effectiveness and accessibility of knowledge, as well as questions of ethics, responsibility, and its impact on the roles of teachers and students in the learning process. An important aspect is how artificial intelligence can become a true tool for progress, rather than merely a symbol of technological enthusiasm.
- Mag. Aleksandra Boldin, Head of Education and High School Teacher -
I expect that the SAIL project will support our school in a more structured and responsible integration of artificial intelligence into teaching and learning. Since artificial intelligence tools are already widely used by students, participants in various training programs and courses, and teachers, I see a strong need to develop the competencies required for their critical, ethical, effective, and meaningful use in educational practice. I also expect the project to support teachers in gaining confidence in using artificial intelligence in education and in developing a clearer understanding of its opportunities and challenges.
- Mag. Jasmina Mihelak Zupančič, Principal and Managing Director of the School Center Slovenske Konjice–Zreče -
I expect the SAIL project to help our school implement AI in a more responsible and educational way. AI is already part of students’ lives, so we need to teach them how to use it critically, ethically and effectively.
- Cristòfol ESTRELLA, Principal and teacher of Trade & Marketing at IVic.
